What we keep, and what we don't.

AleroAG is farm software. The data you put in it is yours. This page says exactly what we collect, where it lives, who can see it, and how to take it with you or delete it. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and a person will answer.

Who runs AleroAG

AleroAG is operated by AleroLabs, based in the United States. “We” and “us” in this policy means AleroLabs. We are the data controller for the information described here.

Using AleroAG without an account

Most tools work without signing in. In that mode your fields, records, and settings are stored in your own browser (local storage) on your own device. They never reach our servers unless you create an account and choose to import them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What we collect when you create an account

  • Account details: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted scrypt hash; we cannot read them. Optionally, your name, farm name, and the three profile questions (operation type, acreage band, what brought you here). All three are skippable.
  • Farm data you enter: field names and boundaries, operations, budgets, grain sales and storage positions, basis entries, equipment and service records, harvest loads, marketing plan rungs, and price alerts.
  • Weather and satellite data we fetch for your fields: rainfall, forecasts, spray windows, and crop-health imagery, keyed to the field locations you gave us.
  • Technical basics: server logs with IP address, time, and the page or endpoint requested, kept for security and troubleshooting and rotated automatically. We do not run third-party advertising or behavioral analytics on aleroag.com.

Where it is stored

Account and farm data is stored in a database on servers we operate ourselves in the United States, behind Cloudflare. Backups are taken nightly and kept on our own storage, with an encrypted copy on a second system. The AI features (Field Advisor and Crop Scout) run on models hosted on our own hardware; your prompts and photos are not sent to a third-party AI company.

Third parties we rely on

A small number of services touch a limited slice of your data, only to provide the feature:

  • Cloudflare routes traffic to our servers and protects against attacks. It sees your IP address and the pages you request.
  • Resend delivers our email (price alerts, the weekly digest, password resets). It receives your email address and the message content.
  • Open-Meteo provides weather and climate data. It receives the coordinates or place name of your fields, not your identity.
  • Copernicus / Sentinel provides satellite crop-health imagery for your field boundaries.
  • USDA NASS and public market feeds provide yields, prices, and truck rates. No personal data is sent to them.
  • Esri serves the satellite basemap tiles on the field map. It sees the map area you view.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, input suppliers, lenders, or anyone else. We do not aggregate your farm data into benchmarks or resell it in any form.

Email

We send three kinds of email: price alerts you set yourself, a weekly farm digest (on by default, every digest carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn it off under Account settings), and account emails such as password resets. We do not send marketing email.

Cookies

Signing in sets one cookie, grower_session, which keeps you logged in for 30 days. It is HttpOnly and only sent over HTTPS. Your theme preference is kept in local storage. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your data, your controls

  • Export: every module has a CSV export. Your fields export as CSV or GeoJSON.
  • Correct: edit your name, farm name, email, and password any time under Account settings.
  • Delete: Account settings has a Delete account button. It removes your account and everything in it immediately. Backups age out on their normal schedule within 30 days.
  • Ask: email us for a copy of everything we hold about you, or with any question. We answer within a few business days.

The demo farm

The “Tour a demo farm” button signs you into a shared, fictional operation. Anything you enter there is visible to other visitors and is wiped every night. Do not put real data in the demo.

Children

AleroAG is for farm operators and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the new date at the top and, for account holders, mention it in the next digest. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
